Product formats
Choose the right format and delivery mode for files, PDFs, audio, video, photos, art, and software licenses.
File download
Use File download for archives, templates, documents, source code, presets, datasets, and any asset that does not need a specialized public preview. The original is delivered through a protected route with configurable link lifetime, download count, revocation, and optional first-IP locking.
The public product page can use cover art and descriptive metadata without exposing the original filename, local path, or private origin.
PDF and ebook
PDF products can include a separate public sample. The sample is intentionally public and should contain only pages you are comfortable distributing. Buyers can read the purchased PDF in a book-style browser powered by bundled same-origin PDF.js assets, download it, or use the delivery mode you configured.
Do not upload the full original as the sample. A sample URL is not protected by purchase access.
Music and audio
Audio products support an optional demo player and protected playback of the original. Choose stream, download, or stream and download. Seekable playback uses single-range HTTP responses, so moving through a track does not count as a fresh download for every range request.
Use browser-compatible formats such as MP3, M4A, OGG, WAV, or FLAC after checking your audience's platform support. A public demo should be a deliberately shortened or altered asset, not the paid master.
Video content
Video products follow the same separation: an optional public trailer and a protected original for buyers. This format fits tutorials, courses, stock footage, screen recordings, and event replays. MP4 and WebM are common browser choices.
Protected streaming is access control, not DRM. A determined user can record anything their browser can play. Use visible ownership notices and product terms when redistribution risk matters.
Photos and art
Photo products can publish a gallery of derived previews. The plugin can downscale and optionally watermark previews while keeping full-resolution originals behind the purchase boundary. Preview derivation avoids the thin-line and pixel-loss problems that arise when a browser crudely shrinks a very large original into a small card.
Watermarking discourages casual copying but does not make a public preview secret. Choose preview resolution and crop with the assumption that the file can be saved.
Software license
License products generate recoverable serials after payment. Configure a serial pattern, duration, maximum activations, and publication state. Applications can verify, activate, deactivate, and send heartbeat requests to the store-scoped API with configurable headers and HMAC signatures.
License products appear in the same storefront and cart as media. Administrators manage issued keys, activations, audit events, and manual issuance from the unified License keys tab.
Choosing a delivery mode
Choose the least permissive delivery that satisfies the product:
| Customer need | Suggested mode |
|---|---|
| One-time archive | Download |
| Ebook used across devices | Browser read and download |
| Album or podcast | Stream and download |
| Course consumed online | Stream |
| Stock footage supplied to editors | Download |
| Photo pack or design assets | Download |
| Desktop application | Generated license |
